Chapter 315
Isabella Sinclair, Nathaniel Graves, and Maxwell Sterling, the general manager of InnovaTech, had a private group chat.
The day's events were so scandalous that Maxwell couldn't contain his inner gossipmonger. He immediately spilled every juicy detail to them.
Neither Isabella nor Nathaniel cared much about how many admirers Victoria Kensington had or how obsessed they were with her.
But by afternoon, Maxwell messaged again.
Mr. Whitmore's daughter came to the company looking for Ms. Kensington. When Ms. Kensington claimed she got along well with his daughter before, most of us didnโt believe her.
But after seeing the little girl today? Itโs clearโSophia Whitmore absolutely adores her.
Isabellaโs fingers froze over the keyboard. It wasnโt because she was upset about Sophia being close to Victoria.
She had just realizedโif word got out about Victoria and Sophiaโs relationship, there was no way to keep it from her uncle and grandmother any longer.
Sheโd always known this day would come eventually, butโ
Nathaniel glanced at her expression and immediately guessed her thoughts.
With a scoff, he said, "The only reason Sophiaโs existence spread so fast is because Alexander himself is influential."
"But Victoria? Who is she? Just someone clinging to Alexanderโs coattails. Beyond InnovaTech employees and her little fan club, who in high society actually cares about her relationship with his daughter?"
Then, as if struck by sudden amusement, Nathaniel smirked.
"Now, if people found out you were also Frederick Aldridgeโs studentโthat the Cuap system and our companyโs two major projects were your workโand that youโre actually Sophiaโs biological mother? That would shake the entire social circle."
"As for Victoria? A nobody trying to play stepmother? Please."
Isabella remained calm about it all.
Stillโฆ
She hesitated before speaking. "Uncle Charles and Grandma Margaret have probably already guessed that Sophia is close to Victoria."
"They havenโt asked me about it because they donโt want to upset meโso theyโre pretending not to know."
Nathaniel agreed.
He gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
"Itโs good theyโre mentally prepared. The fact they havenโt said anything means youโre their priority over Sophia. What matters most to them is that youโre happy."
Isabella smiled faintly. "I know."
Then her thoughts shifted to the status of her divorce from Alexander.
Honestly, when sheโd signed the divorce papers he gave her, sheโd assumed it would be finalized quickly.
She never expected it to drag on for months.
Sheโd asked Alexander multiple times, and each time, heโd promised it would be done soon. Butโ
Since she knew he was more eager to finalize it than she was, she hadnโt pressed further. But nowโฆ
Decisively, she called Jonathan Blackwood to check the progress.
Jonathan had been handling the divorce proceedings for her weekly. Hearing her inquiry, he replied, "Tomorrow is my scheduled call with Mr. Whitmoreโs lawyer. Iโll update you as soon as I get a response."
"Alright," Isabella said. Then, calmly, she added, "If they give the same vague answer again, tell his lawyer Iโm willing to walk away with nothing."
"I donโt want a single thing Alexander has given me. He can draft a new agreement immediatelyโIโll sign it."
