Chapter 289
Isabella Sinclair now officially held shares in InnovaTech. She had arrived early for a meeting with Alexander Whitmore.
"Hello, Isabella." Genevieve approached with a sly smile, casting a sideways glance at Olivia before whispering, "She was gloating about receiving flowers, but I shut her down by mentioning how many bouquets you've gottenโand that Alexander transferred company shares to you. She had nothing to say after that."
Isabella glanced at Olivia but remained silent.
Genevieve smirked. "You told me Nathaniel doted on her, but all he did was send flowers on Valentineโs Day."
Isabella arched a brow.
Was that truly all Nathaniel had done? If so, it was a pitiful effort. Olivia held significant influence at YodaVision, but without an official position or shares, it was meaningless.
Now that Isabella could compare herself to Olivia, she realized things werenโt as sheโd imagined. If Nathaniel truly valued Olivia, he wouldโve given her more than just hollow authority.
Victor Pembroke approached with a knowing smile. "Now that you hold shares, will you take charge of InnovaTech?"
She flicked a glance at Olivia. "No. Iโll leave it to the professionals. Power-hoarding isnโt my style."
Olivia was incompetent yet meddled in everything just to flaunt her so-called authority at YodaVision. The irony was laughableโshe had no real position or stake in the company.
Meanwhile, Olivia remained focused on her work, undisturbed by the earlier exchange. Her phone buzzedโa message from Frederick Aldridge.
"Pick me up tomorrow night."
Last week, heโd mentioned someone wanting to meet her. This was likely the reason.
She typed back, "Understood, Mr. Aldridge," then tucked her phone away and resumed working.
The next evening, Olivia and Nathaniel arrived at the restaurant with Frederick. As they stepped out of the car, they spotted Richard Fairchild and Walter Ashford.
Olivia had expected strangers, not familiar faces.
"Mr. Fairchild, Mr. Ashford," she greeted politely.
They nodded warmly, exchanging pleasantries before turning toward the entranceโuntil a voice called out behind them.
"Leaving so soon? No oneโs waiting for me?"
Olivia turned, stunned. The man approaching was a high-ranking official from the Department of Defense.
Frederickโs expression tightened. "This is Frederick Langley."
Though known for his intimidating presence in interviews, Frederick Langley now wore a warm smile. He extended a hand. "You must be Olivia. Iโve heard much about you."
She shook his hand. "Itโs an honor."
Just as she spoke, another figure emerged from a nearby carโa face frequently seen on national broadcasts.
Frederickโs voice turned icy. "Thatโs Walter Ashford."
Olivia greeted him, but before she could say more, a familiar voice cut in.
"Father?"
Dominic Fairchild stepped out of his car, eyes widening at the gathering of powerful figuresโand Olivia standing among them.
